As a journalist Fieldwork is very unbreakable profession. Today I realize how a reporter builds their information. How tough is it. Today I do my first filed work. My assignment on the subject of ZAKAT. Zakaat has the implied meaning of ‘grow’, ‘purify’, or ‘foster’.
It is often compared to the system of tithing and alms but unlike these older systems, it serves principally as the welfare contribution to poor and deprived people in the Muslim lands, although others may have a rightful share. It is the duty of the state not just to collect it; but to distribute it fairly as well.
Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

It is an obligation on Muslims to pay 1/40th (2.5%) of the wealth which they have had for a full lunar year, 2.5% of goods used for trade, and 5% or 10% of certain type of harvests depending on irrigation. Exempt from Zakat are a person’s house and personal transportation.
Zakat is not mandatory on harvest if the total did not reach the minimum limit of about 653 kilograms, nor on gold amounts if the owner has less than 85 grams or silver less than 595 grams.
Reaz Bhai take Interviw
Me, One main reporter Reaz Bhai and cameraman visit for Zakat shops. Then we take interview. We also take some VOX POP (General peoples interview). Then we went for Bangobazar market, which is very famous in Bangladesh. We took some footage.
Today is very scorching day. In marketplace I felt tooo much blistering. Then I understand that how reporter do their job. It’s not a simple profession. It’s a really very hard working job. Reporter should always provide their best. Then finally they build news.
After done our assignment we came our place of work. Then we provide our videotape a video editor. He captures that cassette. Then we notice all recording. After that we prepared a script. Then Reaz bahi told our editors that which part be supposed to be set in news. Then finally after half an hour we completed our news. This news broadcast today’s 7pm, 10pm and 11 pm news time.
At the moment I fell very proud of my self. Because I have completed such an amazing work. My news was on air today. So I am extremely happy.
