Methodology of My report about ATN Bangla

Posted by bini08 on September 30, 2008

This report is product of my internship exercise at ATN Bangla newsroom. The reporters and editors in the ATN Bangla newsroom were friendly people who accommodated me within the first few weeks as members of the family. I would prefer to describe my Methodology in two ways:

1) Primary Data.
2) Secondary Data.

Primary Data:

As an intern student in the newsroom, I observed the different steps of news structure as a participant observation. The term participant observation refers to a method of data collection in which the researcher becomes a participant in the group under study.
I had all the rights to use all news resources and I also shared the views with the news editors, video editors and reporters whenever they were passing moderately free time. The groups of the organization were friendly and accommodated me within an extremely short moment as a member of the ATN Bangla News family. They didn’t let me feel that I am only an intern. Everyone respected me always. And assisted me in my assignments. Whatever my assignments were, in fieldwork, they taught me that how a reporter does their job in field, how they face lot of troubles. First they write a script about those subjects. Then they go for fieldwork. A journalist should be elegant. Because situation can be changed at anytime but they have to feature it. They taught me this thing that how a reporter makes their report on the field and after that how it comes on air.

Also in desk, they taught me how to create a sports news, international news and scroll.
